Job Description

The Revenue Manager will direct the revenue management processes providing hands-on technical assistance to Amrit Resort and Residences. Oversee and manage the rooms’ forecasts and budgets, and rooms statistics maintenance and responsible for identifying and maximizing all potential revenue opportunities. The primary goal of the Revenue Manager is to drive overall revenue and market share at the hotel.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Manage room authorizations, group block activity, and rates and restrictions
  • Implement and create strategic packages/offers to drive transient room nights
  • Monitors group blocks to determine rooms available for sale to transient customers
  • Manage the rooms ‘statistics data base and provide direction to automating compilation of this information
  • Complete special projects and analyses as assigned by the senior management
  • Monitor the pricing of competitors understands the dynamics of the local market and demand generators
  • Responsible for daily walk-in rates and communication to staff of change in the daily pricing strategies
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget and monitor sales activities/performance to ensure sales meet or exceed established profit plan and to accurately report variances/projections to management
  • Analyze pace, lead time, lost business to support short and long-term booking and rate strategies, and forecasts and budgets
  • Attend weekly departmental and hotel staff meetings to facilitate good communication within the hotel
  • Generate reports as required to measure business generated by the sales department
  • Facilitate and lead weekly revenue management meeting
  • Direct coordination of cross-selling, joint marketing initiatives and other hotel/brand synergies to maximize exposure and profitability including agency contact, media planning and hotel
    communications
  • Provide direction to system enhancements and procedures of the PMS, Group Sales system, internet booking engine that contribute to improved efficiencies in the Reservations and Sales selling processes, and maximization of revenues
  • Actively participates in the sales process via customer meetings, entertainment and attendance at client and other relevant industry events

  • Serve as the group’s profitability analyst and champion to insure full participation (buy in) of all changes by all applicable department heads prior to implementation
  • Reporting back to the C-suite level

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; five to seven years’ experience, preferably in pre-opening in high end resort
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Experience in four- and five-star properties
  • Experience in wellness health spa and resort preferred
  • Strong knowledge/experience of the diverse South Florida market

Physical Demands

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors, temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems
  • Must be able to stand or sit for extended period
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning and filing tasks
  • Must be able to lift to 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine or calculator, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing
    cabinets, fax machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed
  • Long hours sometimes required
