Full Time

The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing, directing and administering all financial operations of the hotel in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Oversee the financial operations of the Company
• Manage and provide ongoing training to the accounting personnel
• Conduct weekly and monthly financial assessments and generate reports to be submitted to the senior management team
• Establish budgets in accordance with the requirements of the company departments
• Schedule and coordinate the preparation and presentation of the annual operating budget
• Develop annual financial plans and projections for the company
• Establish and audit all internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling and disbursements, inventories, hotel equipment, master keys, and associates time records
• Analyze pace, lead time, lost business to support short and long-term booking and rate strategies, and forecasts and budgets
• Continuously monitor economic, social, and governmental trends and policies to ensure that management is kept fully apprised of any implications that may affect the performance of the hotel or restaurant in meeting its financial objectives
• Serve as financial advisor to hotel management and ownership
• Coaches department heads regarding their financial responsibilities and effective financial management techniques
• Facilitate and lead weekly revenue management meeting
• Reporting back to the C-suite level

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Studies from an accredited university or business college is preferred
• Five to seven years of practical accounting experience in the hospitality industry
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Experience in four- and five-star properties required
• Experience in wellness health spa and resort preferred
• Well organized, detail-oriented with excellent follow-up
• Ability to work under time pressures and extensive hours
• Must possess excellent communication skills both internally and externally

Physical Demands
• Most work tasks are performed indoors,temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems
• Must be able to stand or sit for extended period
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning and filing tasks
• Must be able to lift to 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
• Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine or calculator, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, fax machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed
• Long hours sometimes required
